Context

A modern, tasteful brand for a salon with a loyal following.

Micheline Barber, a long-time client, runs a successful salon in Tampa and wanted a website that finally matched it: modern, refined, and clearly hers. We started by talking through the brand together, then landed on a new logo and palette before a single page was designed.

The logo began as sketches around the letter "M" and the number 1 combined, with a cursive element to carry the femininity of the work. For color, I went dark with a single bright accent, set against high-resolution black-and-white photography of the women who make up her core clientele.

MSalonOne mood board and brand direction
The mood board: dark palette, a single accent, bold portraiture.
Good design here meant carrying an idea all the way from a first sketch to something the client doesn't just approve, but genuinely adores, and can run without me.
Build

Designed for craft, built for independence.

Copy was a collaboration, with the strongest lines carried over from her legacy site and tightened. The visual direction leaned into contrast: a dark, confident base, the gold accent, and portraiture that did most of the emotional work.

I built the final site in Wix on purpose. Micheline needed to make small updates and swap images over time without calling a designer or a developer, so the deliverable was not just a site, it was a system she could own.
